Safe Firearms Handling Course
Cost: £250 per person
Course content:
The course comprises of half a day of classroom-based training followed by half a day of in-depth coaching during a live fire session on a local range.
The classroom training covers the following areas:
- Judging distance, using various techniques
- Training Shooting positions
- Marksmanship Principles
- Equipment
- Firearm Maintenance
- Firearm Carrying
- Basic Ballistics
- Safe Backstops
- Use of High Seats
- Review of recent changes to Firearms legislation
At the end of the morning your understanding will be assessed to ensure you’re confident and you have the required level of competency to join the live fire session the following day.
The afternoon consists of half a day live fire training on the range with the calibre specific to you. One-to-one coaching is provided, giving specific advice and help for you and your firearm.
All attendees who successfully complete the course are awarded a certificate to indicate the individual is a competent firearms handler.

The overall price includes course manual, ammunition, loan of firearm for live fire session, all relevant equipment on the range and refreshments. We ask that you bring your own packed lunch for the first day.

DSC L1
Cost: £295 per person
Content:
The course comprises two days of professional classroom instruction including a series of lectures, videos and discussion as well as a day at the range testing your field safety and shooting.
There are five assessments to be undertaken, resulting in a DSC1 Certificate for those who achieve the pass grade.
Optional Lantra Wild Game Meat Hygiene Assessment also available – Can only be booked with a DSC1 Course (additional £90).

Content:
The course is 4 hours in duration and takes place one evening per month.

First Aid + Part F
Cost: £100 per person
Timings: 0930 -1630

The course is limited to a maximum of 12 people
Course content:
This course is suitable for anyone involved in rural pastimes and is ideal to those wishing for a practical working knowledge and confidence in being able to assist someone in distress.
The day comprises Emergency First Aid training with additional learning appropriate to the sport including what to do in the event of gunshot trauma, incident management, working alone and being found.
The course is split into theory and practical sessions to aid all learning styles. All course material is provided. Accreditation certificates are awarded upon successful completion.
